Tom Neylan

About

Tom heads the Risk and Policy Unit within the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) Secretariat.  He is responsible for FATF’s work setting and amending international standards, and for monitoring new and emerging risks of money laundering and terrorist financing. Recent projects have included negotiating new global rules to regulate virtual assets, combat the financing of WMD proliferation, and improve beneficial ownership transparency; and leading initiatives to promote the use of new technologies by AML/CFT authorities. Before joining the FATF, Tom worked in the UK as head of Counter-Terrorism Finance at H M Treasury.
