Stig Nielsen


Stig Nielsen was employed in the Ministry of Industry from 1986 to 1989, and has been employed in the DFSA since November 1989. From 1993 to 1999 Stig Nielsen was responsible for supervision of market risk and operational risk in large banks and investment banks. In 1999 Stig Nielsen was appointed as Director of the Securities Division. In this Division he had responsibility for the regulation and supervision of the securities markets, including the regulated markets, market transparency, take over bids, market abuse and prospectuses.

February 2007 to June 2017 Stig Nielsen was Director of the Operational Risk Division. This Division was responsible for regulating and supervising stock broking companies, market risks and operational risks in large and medium sized banks, The Division was also responsible for resolution planning for banks.

Since July 2017, Stig Nielsen has been Director of the DFSAs AML/CTF Division. Stig Nielsen is Head of the Danish delegation to FATF and Chairman of the Danish AML/CTF Forum where all Danish Authorities responsible for AML and CTF are represented.
