Rosamund de Sybel is Head of Advisory Services at the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), where she leads advisory work at the intersection of geopolitics, geo-economics, and global security risk.

Previously, Rosamund spent over eight years at ICBC Standard Bank, most recently as Head of Geopolitical Risk, Financial Crime Compliance, and earlier as Manager within the Financial Crime Intelligence Unit. Her career spans senior roles at K2 Integrity, the Economist Intelligence Unit, and advisory and research positions focused on the Middle East, Africa, and global strategic risk. She began her career in geopolitical analysis and economic research, bringing deep regional expertise and financial crime insight to advising institutions on geopolitical risk, sanctions exposure, and complex global operating environments.
