Roger Matthews is a Partner in the International Trade and Regulatory practice at Dentons, based in London. He advises clients on complex international trade, sanctions, export controls, and financial services regulatory matters, with a particular focus on UK and EU legal frameworks.

Prior to joining Dentons, Roger held senior roles at Dechert LLP, and served as a Legal Adviser at HM Treasury, the Bank of England, and the Prudential Regulation Authority, where he worked on financial sanctions, EU law, and regulatory rule-making. He was also seconded to the European Commission, specialising in international sanctions and trade regulation. Roger began his career in commercial litigation and brings deep public- and private-sector experience to navigating evolving regulatory and geopolitical risk.
