Richard joined the NCA in 2014 and was posted to the UK Financial Intelligence Unit. Over the next three years he became an accredited Financial Intelligence Officer and gained extensive knowledge of Suspicious Activity Reporting and the value of financial intelligence to domestic and overseas money laundering operations.

In 2017, he joined the Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Unit (MSHTU) and is currently the Illicit Finance Lead, working on Public-Private collaboration to improve the identification, reporting and use of MSHT-related financial intelligence.
