After a brief period at both DWP and HMRC, I moved to the Gambling Commission, where I spend 14 years working in Licensing, Compliance and Enforcement. During this time, I saw the licensing of new sectors, the introduction of regulation of online gambling as well as the development of safer gambling requirements and of course the dreaded increase of fines. I became Gamekeeper turn poacher in 2020 when I left the regulator and joined Betfred, where I am the head of Compliance with oversight for AML, Safer gambling and risk – all the fun stuff.
