Nis joined the Department for Business & Trade (DBT) in May 2023 as Deputy Director of the Company Law & Transparency Policy Team. The team co-delivered with Home Office the Economic Crime & Corporate Transparency Act (ECCTA) 2023. They are now working closely with Companies House to finalise the policy and legal framework which underpins the reforms being implemented through ECCTA to the Companies House Register. Prior to DBT, Nis held a variety of policy roles in the Civil Service, including Deputy Director for Tax Policy at HM Revenue & Customs.
