Kristof Wabl, a Partner with StoneTurn, brings 15 years of experience in advising multinational organizations in the prevention, detection and investigation of white-collar crime. He began his career with the Federal Ministry of Justice in Austria and is an expert in compliance, financial crime, and forensic investigations. He has led high-profile internal investigations and gained significant experience working alongside international law firms, regulators and law enforcement agencies.

Prior to joining StoneTurn, Kristof worked for 14 years at PwC, where he built and led the firm’s Forensics & Crisis practice in Vienna after rotating 2.5 years to NYC. He has led internal control review engagements, conducted large and most sensitive investigations and assisted clients in improving compliance processes. With his law background as well as experience in leading cross-border assignments throughout Europe and the U.S., Kristof served as a trusted adviser to businesses across a range of industries. Particularly, he advised on internal controls and governance frameworks, designed and implemented whistleblower programs, and recommended remedial actions. Kristof advised both regulatory agencies and financial institutions on compliance and anti-money laundering and sanction matters.

 In addition to his work with StoneTurn DACH, Kristof currently leads the task force focused on Whistleblowing for the Austrian Chapter of Transparency International, a post he has held since 2016. Kristof is a regular speaker on hot topics of fraud and compliance at conferences and seminars. He is fluent in German, English and Dutch.
