About
Josie Stewart is Illicit Finance Programme Director at the Joffe Charitable Trust and a leading expert in illicit finance and anti-corruption with extensive international experience in policy development and delivery. She brings deep expertise in driving global impact through collaborative cross-sector work and convenes the Latimer Network: a multi-sector initiative bringing together expertise from government, the private sector, civil society and academia to accelerate progress in the UK’s fight against illicit finance.
Previously serving as Head of Illicit Finance at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), Josie established and led a groundbreaking policy and programme priority on international illicit finance for the UK Government. Her background also includes serving as Director of Transparency International’s global Defence and Security programme and on the Board of Spotlight on Corruption.
Josie has lived and worked in Liberia, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, Afghanistan, and the UAE, and is currently an Associate Fellow at the Centre for Finance and Security at the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI).
