Gonzalo is an international legal professional driven by a passion for integrity, compliance, transformative public policy, and corporate responsibility. With over two decades of experience, he currently serves as the Group’s Chief Ethics & Compliance Counsel at Unilever, a global giant with a presence in over 190 countries and a portfolio of more than 400 brands. At Unilever, he spearheads the execution of their well-regarded and award-winning global Business Integrity programme. He leads by leveraging innovation, design thinking, behavioural science, and cutting-edge investigative capabilities, while building engaged, talented and resilient teams that ensure Unilever’s operations uphold the highest ethical standards.

Gonzalo honed his expertise in anti-corruption, compliance, and corporate governance through key roles at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), the International Bar Association—where he worked on global projects with the OECD and UN agencies—and a leading Latin American legal practice. Believing in the power of external engagement, he holds leadership roles such as Chair of the International Chamber of Commerce’s Global Commission on Business Integrity and play an important role in shaping the anti-corruption agenda of the World Economic Forum, the B-20, and the OECD. These positions allow Gonzalo to positively influence global standards and practices, helping businesses and governments win with integrity.
