About

As Director of Operations, Emma has oversight of all SFO investigations.

Before becoming Director of Operations in September 2024, Emma was Joint Head of Fraud, Bribery and Corruption at the SFO and before that she was the Head of the Proceeds of Crime and International Assistance Division for over two and a half years. Emma joined the SFO in 2008 and spent a combined total of 13 years acting first as an Investigative Lawyer and later as a Case Controller.

Emma has prosecuted a number of high-profile fraud and bribery cases including Smith & Ouzman that saw the first post-trial conviction for a corporate for overseas bribery and led to a novel compensation arrangement with the victim state.

Emma co-drafted the CPS and SFO’s Deferred Prosecution Agreement Code of Practice that sits alongside the DPA legislation. She secured the UK’s second DPA, Sarclad Ltd and then the sixth DPA, Guralp Ltd.

Prior to joining the SFO, Emma was a fraud specialist in private practice.
