INTERPOL’s latest African Cyberthreat Assessment identifies increasing use of AI by criminal groups alongside business email compromise, ransomware, online scams and other cyber-enabled financial crime. The assessment places these developments within a broader transnational threat in which digital infrastructure, fraud networks and illicit financial flows increasingly operate across national borders.
