Dr. Ekaterina Hartmann
About
Dr. Ekaterina Hartmann is Director of Legal and Regulatory Affairs at the European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA), where she leads the association’s work on EU regulatory affairs including anti-money laundering. Based in Brussels, she has played a leading role in the online gambling sector’s engagement with successive EU AML reforms, from the 4th Anti-Money Laundering Directive through to the EU’s new AML legislative package and the level two legislation of AMLA.
Prior to joining EGBA, Ekaterina worked at the European Commission on complaint and infringement handling, and previously held roles at the European Parliament and a consultancy. She holds a PhD in Health Policy from the Medical University of Sofia, an LL.M. in European Law and a B.A. in European Studies from Maastricht University. She is a regular speaker on EU AML/CFT policy, EU digital policy and online gambling regulation.
