Jem Davis
About
Jem is an accomplished senior leader and legal adviser, responsible for leading and directing the activities of the Bank of England’s Compliance Division which forms part of the Risk Directorate. She is passionate about diversity and inclusion and participate and leads in a number of diversity and inclusion events and initiatives across the Bank and externally.
Prior to appointment as the Bank’s Chief Compliance Officer, she also held positions as the Bank’s Head of Privacy & Data Protection Officer as well as acting as the Bank’s interim Head of the Bank’s Employee Relations.
Jem first joined the Central Banking Division of the Bank of England’s Legal Directorate in November 2017 as part of the Bank’s acquisition of CHAPS and reported directly to the Head of Legal for that Division. As Senior Legal Counsel and Manager, she was also a member of the Central Banking Division management team and also served as Chief Legal Officer for CHAPS. Prior to taking up that role, she was the Chief Legal and Regulatory Officer for CHAPS Co.
Jem’s 20+ years’ experience spans private practice (Clifford Chance), transactional investment banking and the payments industry, including leading and delivering in a heavily regulated environment, managing regulatory, compliance and legal risk and managing people and change.
