APG opens consultation on Pacific model laws that would give authorities stronger powers to restrain, confiscate and recover criminal assets

The model legislation forms part of a wider Pacific Model Legal Framework on anti-money laundering and criminal asset confiscation, designed to help Pacific Island jurisdictions meet revised FATF standards and align investigation and court processes across the region. Developed by Lexbridge Lawyers and co-ordinated through APG with New Zealand funding, the framework includes non-conviction-based confiscation powers and will be supported by implementation guidance, practical materials and training, with consultation closing on 12 June 2026.
